What To Wear And What To Eat When Camping

Camping these days is getting more and more popular among all ages. The fun and excitement of being in the heart of nature is too much to resist. The fresh air, the tall trees and the sound of nature is all too new to a person who spends time in the city and is good change to have every once in a while. While camping seems easy to those all-experienced campers, it can be quite difficult and challenging for amateur campers on newbies. There are things to remember when going on a short or long camping trip which is as important as remembering what to bring like some decent survival gear and what not to bring.

Before you pack up your things for your first camping trip, you have to make sure that you have the right kinds of clothing to wear. The clothes you wear is important because it can get cold or hot anytime and there are insects lurking that may give you skin infections or other diseases like dengue. Wear a light-weight shirt that can cover your neck down to your wrists. Light-weight so that you won't feel too warm or too heavy but can still protect your skin from the sunlight, as well as from insects like mosquitoes. You can bring a jacket or sweater for the colder days and nights. Pants are also important because you are walking in an environment that has bushes and various plants. Wearing such can protect your legs from being scratched, touched by plants that can cause infections and protect it from insects as well. You can also wear shorts that can be converted into pants just in case the pants become too uncomfortable during the hotter temperatures. For footwear, wear hiking shoes or boots to avoid slipping on slopes and muddy terrains. A pair of thick socks is also advisable, as well as wearing a hat or cap.

Whoever went camping and didn't bring any food? Food is very important as well because you wouldn't last a few hours without eating or drinking something. Recommended camping or survival food includes food that does not rot or expire easily. Some good products would be coffee or milk, eggs, canned food, fruits and vegetables. Of course, you would need some cooking items like a water heater, a portable stove, or just plain wood and matches.

Anything can happen on your camping trip. You can go hungry, get scars, get bitten by insects and other scary situations. For any first timer, it can be pretty hard but once you get the hang of it, you will crave the challenge and the excitement that camping can give you. With the right gear like camping bags or tents, food, survival gear and the like, you would be a pro camper in no time.
